Mrs. De La Cruz's Kinder Room

Welcome to John Otis! My name is Mariela De La Cruz and I will have the privilege of being your child's teacher this school year. I hope to have your full cooperation so that it may be a very fulfilling year for all of us. I am reaaly excited about this year and I am looking forward to getting to each and everyone of you.

Homework

Homework will be sent in a packet on Monday and collected on Thursday. Please help your child complete assignments and get the packet returned on time. Please do not complete packet in one night. It is important to establish good study habits. I expect students to read or listen to someone read for at least 15 minutes every night.

Discipline

Students must follow all classroom rules and procedures. All classroom rules and procedures will be practiced and reinforced throughout the school year.

Positive Consequences:

Students are rewarded daily with sticker or stamp for doing a good job.

Negative Consequences:

Students will not receive a sticker for the day.

No recess

Trip to the office

Snacks

Students may bring healthy snacks for recess. Please do not send candy, Hot Cheestos or sodas.

Uniforms

Uniforms must be worn everyday. If your child is not in uniform he/she will get a loaner from the school.

Arrival and Dismissal

Students must arrive at school by 7:50 if they want to have breakfast. If your child will not be eating breakfast at school they must arrive at 8:10.

Students will be dismissed through the main door at 1pm.
