Greatest Common Factor (Standard 2.4) How can you find the Greates Common Factor of two numbers or more? REMEMBER ALL NUMBERS HAVE A FACTOR SOMETIMES THAT FACTOR CAN BE 1 When two numbers share a factor we refer to that number as a COMMON Factor. You can use Prime Factorization to find the Common Factor. 40/5 = 8/2 = 4/2 = 2/2 = 5x2x2x2 = GCF= 20 (Proof: 40/20=2) 60/5 = 12/2 = 6/2 = 3/3 = 5x2x2x3 = GCF =20 (Proof: 60/20=3)
