MARE is an annual unit of study for Central Elementary. Students enjoy nearly a month of ocean science each year, just before Summer break. Each grade level has its own sub-topic. Kindergarten studies ponds. First grade studies the rocky seashore. Second grade studies the sandy beach. Third grade studies the wetland habitat. Fourth grade studies the kelp forest.
